Client Story: In order to comply with Accounting Regulation ASC606: Revenue for Complex Contracts, our client needed to implement a software solution and sunset their unsustainable legacy spreadsheets.
As an Agile Project Leader with NetSuite Experience and an accounting background, I implemented NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management module. This project included onboarding subject matter experts, solidifying developer requirements, testing transactions, documenting processes and identifying risks. I also developed a training program to make the transition seamless as possible.
NetSuite ASC606 & Optimization
Client Story: Developed a project strategy to launch spa located in Greater Seattle area. I oversaw the implementation of financial systems, coordinated marketing and promotion activities as well as serving as an advisor to CEO and investors.
Client Story: Green Energy company required an end-to-end solution to support remarkable growth in this sector. Pacifix Planned, Executed, Controlled the NetSuite ERP solution for this solar company. All phases of Project Management including creation of project charter, acquistion and development of team, requirements gathering, scope, schedule, budget management and stakeholder engagement. As Project Manager I led Data Conversion, Configuration, Testing, Training and Change Management.

User Story: Mid-market medical software company needed to bring its finance and administration back from an outsource. I transferred accounting operations from outside firm to in-house. Configured ERP; transferred and tested data; hired and trained staff; set up payroll, AP, AR, job cost, FA and GL.

Sage Accounting Conversion
Client’s Story: This letter of recommendation is in reference to Joel Goldfarb and his leadership in the launching of the NetSuite program here at Genesys Telecommunications Corporate office in Daly City.
Joel was tasked to create a NetSuite training manual in a very short period of time. He proved to be the right choice for the task particularly with regards to accessing and troubleshooting the NetSuite process within our structure. By understanding our process and NetSuite, he was able to successfully create the training manual and publish it in a timely manner.

Client Story: Company needed a solution with strong job/cost accounting to ensure event revenue, expenses and allocated overhead were being tracked accurately. In addition, this client needed integrated time reporting for its payroll to keep labor costs under control.
Sage 50 [formerly Peachtree] Implementation
Client Story: Upon a major restructuring of its California HQ, a professional services group was created. As a consultant to this new entity, I trained my peers in managing clients. This included proper project scoping, time and billing and transfer-pricing.
Back before the days of cloud-based business software lived LANs and WANs. Remember? Admittedly, this was the first and last time I implemented a computer network for an outside client. Way too much maintenance and not user-friendly like everything else I do!
Entertainment Company Computer Network
Client Story: Turns out the mainframe wasn’t correctly computing prepaid interest when borrowers closed on their loans. Because of the volume, I developed an Access database to run the massive recalculations. What a nightmare. Fortunately, I only produced adjustments for the billings, someone else got to deal with the unhappy borrowers!
Mortgage Company Financial Project
Client Story: When the British Telecom giant purchased AirTouch and its East Coast Counterparts, a massive restatement of financials was in order to recompute key figs to the European way of doing things. I was brought to spearhead this effort and handle a bunch of other financial projects too.

Joel has over 30 years experience in systems, projects and training. He has worked with companies from startups to mid-market and Fortune enterprises. Recently, Joel founded two new ventures: zsa and zsc the latter offering training workshops. zSource focuses exclusively on Zoho cloud-based software.
